Senior 2018 Information

Welcome to the Senior Page for the Class of 2018!

The Senior News, your monthly senior newsetter, will be emailed to student and will be posted on the bottom of this webpage at the beginning of each month. ALL seniors will receive the newsletter at their school email address. Copies of scholarship information, as listed on the newsletter, will be available in the scholarship book outside the counselor's office. Most applications are now online, but the select few paper applications will also be available in the scholarship binder.

Caroll Electric $500 Scholarship for High School Seniors

Amount: $500

  4. Served by Carrol County Electric
    (not a requirement but preference is given to those who meet this criteria)
Caroll County Farm Bureau Scholarship

Due: April 6, 2018

Amount: TBD

Application in the scholarship binder
  1. Open to all seniors
  1. Students responsible for turning in the application to the Carroll Co. Farm Bureau office by 5PM on 4/6/18. Address is 1204 Carolyn Lane, Berryville.


The FAFSA for the graduates of 2018 will now be available beginning October 1, 2017. See the document posted below titled 2017-18 FAFSA Updates, to be most prepared for the new process.

Academic Challenge Scholarship

The Academic Challenge Program provides scholarships to Arkansas residents pursuing a higher education. Funded in large part by the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, the Academic Challenge Scholarship is available to students regardless of their academic status, whether just graduating from high school, currently enrolled in college, enrolling in college for the first time, or re-enrolling after a period of time out of college.

Scholarship Deadline to Apply:

June 15, 2017


Starting with the class of 2016, the only requirement is a 19 on the ACT or ACT equivalent score, FAFSA Required.

Students who are initially awarded the Arkansas Challenge Scholarship for the 2014-2015 or 2015-2016 academic years will be awarded on a graduated schedule that is identical to 2013-2014.

Arkansas Future Grant (ArFuture)

Arkansas Future Grant  (ArFuture), is the newest state grant program. The purpose of this grant is to increase the education and skills of Arkansas’s workforce in an affordable manner.  The grant applies to students enrolled in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) or regional high demand areas of study.  The grant will cover tuition and fees for qualifying certificate and Associate degree programs at Arkansas’ public institutions for eligible students.  The grant is available on a first come, first serve basis.

An Applicant must:

  • Have either graduated from an Arkansas public school, private school, home school or received high school equivalency diploma approved by the Department of Career Education; or
  • Verify that he or she has resided within the state for the three (3) years immediately preceding application and has either:
    - Graduated from an out-of-state high school, private school, home school or received a high school equivalency diploma approved by another state.
  • Be enrolled part-time or full-time at an approved institution of higher education in a program of study that leads to an associate degree or a certification in a STEM or regional high demand field.
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA

Governor’s Distinguished Scholarship

The Governor’s Distinguished Scholarship is the most academically rigorous scholarship program offered for those graduating seniors scoring either 32 on the ACT or 1410 on the SAT, and a 3.50 academic grade point average. Those who are named National Merit Finalists or National Achievement Scholars may qualify without meeting the GPA requirement, but must still meet the ACT/SAT requirement. The scholarship pays tuition, mandatory fees, room and board up to $10,000 per year.

At least a 32 ACT (1410 SAT) and a 3.5 GPA to apply. FAFSA not required.

Award Amount:

$10,000 per year.
